- to allow for smooth
- starts.

- The typical clutch
- consists of: the
- flywheel, the
- clutch plate and
- the pressure plate.
- The clutch plate is
- lined on both sides
- with a friction
- material. This
- material creates
- friction when the
- clutch is applied
- and allows energy
- to pass from engine
- to drivetrain.
- Once the clutch is
- fully disengaged,
- there is no
- slippage, and the
- engine is connected
- directly to the
- gear box.
